Great location 10 minutes from the Blue lagoon.

Great location 10 minutes from the Blue lagoon. We stayed here on our first night in Iceland going straight from the airport to the Blue lagoon then checked in. Not a lot here but there’s a pretty church here Tip: don’t buy supplies in the airport shop - we stocked up & it cost us a fortune. There’s a Netto in Grindavík

Grindavik is a small, beautiful fishing village close to the Geldingadalur volcano (but not too close) and the Blue Lagoon. It has many excellent hiking opportunities and great restaurants. Grindavik is surrounded by a beautiful natural landscape. Whale-watching, fishing, mountaineering, very friendly people, safe environment, you name it, Grindavik has it all!

    Great location for Meradalir.

Great location for Meradalir. Fabulous fish and chips at Papas - Grindavik is a fishing town, so all fish is fresh that morning. Lovely walking around the town. Very peaceful. Great for exploring south coast and peninsula. Only 25 mins from Keflavik.

We stopped for one night during our Iceland tour to visit the Blue Lagoon and Fagradalsfjall, the volcano that erupted in 2021 and is still smoldering several months later. Grindavik is a working fishing village with a few local restaurants, grocery store and pharmacy, so is a really good spot to stay for a day when touring Iceland. It is not touristy though so don’t expect lots of shops selling the usual.

This is a dock terminal terrible views, bad aspect for tourists, cabin super smaill no microwave, no waste basket in bathroom, nothing to sweep with, place is creepy, huge caping yard nezt to the property that makes it seem dangerous. Lonely area! For this price you can get a top notch place.

Grindavik is a lovely town with a huge fisherman history.

Grindavik is a lovely town with a huge fisherman history. It's super close to the Blue lagoon and volcano so, there are many options for hiking or relaxing. There's a grill place with a super nice man who told me a little about the history and life of Grindavik's people and he also sells awesome hotdogs. Wish I could've stayed longer but a huge storm came so I had to run away :)

What a fantastic experience! Completely independent unit with all the comforts and facilities! So close to many attractions of the Icelandic South Coast, such as Blue Lagoon, volcanos, geothermal springs and much much more. The local restaurant delivers food super fast (after 17:00), including drinks (wine, beer). Grindavik itself is nothing special, but it's a perfect base to expand and explore further. I would totally recommend renting a car.

We were heading to the Blue Lagoon the next morning after our stay and this location in Grindavik was perfect, only 10 minutes away. It is a street over from the water and close to great restaurants too. The space is immaculate, brand new, beautifully decorated with gorgeous tile floors, counters and stovetop, a designer bathroom and amazing rain shower head, extremely comfortable bed that was sooo cozy, and all the amenities you could need.

This was my second time at this guesthouse. Nice location, good facilities. Comfortable room and bathroom. It is painfull to get a request from Booking for a review at this time. I know of the current situation in Grindavik, and I hope and prey that everyone stays safe and the volcano will not erupt this time. I do hope and pray that the evacation will end soon, everyone is home for Christmas, and the town will heal. Lots of love!

There's not much choice of hotels in Grindavik, to start with. This hotel is decent, seems newly renovated/built. Wifi is free and works well. We arrived a bit early before the check-in but were able to go to the room. Our room was small, but with a nice design, the toiletries were of good quality. At the entrance of the hotel, there is a reception-bar area, which is confusing at first, where the personnel is not always present.

The studio we got was perfect and the only place we stayed in over 6 nights that had a tub...which was much needed after a 14 mile hike to the volcano. It was super clean, the beds were comfortable, check in was easy and the entire hotel was quiet. The ONLY small complaint is that the pillows were very flat. I had to roll up a towel underneath it to get any sort of support.

We did a 3 night trip around Iceland and this was our last hotel and the best. Perfect staff, helpful and friendly as soon as we talked through the door. Arranging shuttle to the blue lagoon and a 5am taxi for me with no fuss. Food with perfection and super comfy beds. Would highly recommend.

The space was clean, quiet, and comfortable. The staff communicated well and we didn't encounter any problems. It is also conveniently close to the Blue Lagoon and the airport, as well as the volcano that erupted in 2021, for those who are interested in that. And the price was great.

The accommodation is situated close to the Blue lagoon (20 min by car). Quiet neighbourhood and parking spot for the car in front of the house. The host was friendly and has recommended us great restaurants nearby. The kitchen is well equipped, the bedroom is big enough and cosy.

Breakfast was very good with very tasty food. People were very friendly. Great location for us, we travelled to many places in Grindavik. The restaurant in the hotel was terrific, we ate dinners several times there. The fish on the menu was the best.

Great location if you are planning to hit up the Blue Lagoon. We stayed here our first night in Iceland. We wanted to see the northern lights and got lucky. I recommend this if you have a car, if not, it may be harder getting out to Grindavik.
